| I downloaded this recently and when I started to use it I had problems that clients/web developer contacts were opening it in other versions of Illustrator were getting flat rasterized design files instead of vector layered design files.
I tried to 'save as' Illustrator 8,9,or 10, but my web developer says they still can't open it even when I save as an older version.
This was several weeks ago, and my upgrade is now sitting there unused and I'm back onto Illustrator 10. This is pretty sad considering the cost of the upgrade, and I shouldn't really ignore this much longer!
Best Wishes

| | Thanks Amanda, I could end up running into a lot of bother with this upgrade then. |

| I have a regular client that I do print and screenprint design for and I am working in CS2. She has version 10 and likes to open the .ai files and 'play' with the image layers sometimes- and also our regular screenprinter is in CS1. I have to save back to both versions for them.
Are you making sure to click on the "PDF Compatible" check box and are you making sure that none of the layers are locked when doing the save?
Since you have both versions, make a simple 3 layer image in cs2 and try various settings -and then open it in your version 10 and see what happens. You could also ask the printer if they will accept a pdf or eps file. |
