Really the only way to lower the file size and there for load time of your animation is to alter the amount of content or when exporting the file, to lower the quality of your animation.

This is something however, you and or many others, do not want to do.

If you still want to go ahead and use the large file I can only suggest writing into your animation a 'preloader' if you haven;t done already.
This means that although the file is big, it loads before playing. This will show visitors that it is a big file but once it is loaded fully it will play. You can find many tutorials on the internet.

On your export box you can change the Lossless to strict jpg and then you can alter the jpg quality. Try about 58 you should loose that much quality depending on how many colours your anim uses.

My apologise, my run of no sleeping has left me to leave out words when I’m reading.. In this case the rather one important one ‘ImageReady’

I was assuming flash was being used so just ignore me (>.< )
Toon’s reply most spot on though,*hushes up*

To preload imageready try:

http://www.verticalmoon.com/products/swflockload/swflockload.htm

You have to pay for it but it's worth every penny.

To see a preload I've done see here:
